Retirement Center Visit

On Friday morning Jack and I joined our Mom's Club at a Senior retirement center to spread some Halloween spookiness to the residents. I was so glad when the senior center contacted us to come for a costume parade. Some of my favorite memories growing up was hanging around Hillhaven Convalescent where my mom was a LVN and talking and playing with the residents. I loved taking them to Wheelchair bowling and adored them teaching me their "old time" songs and stories. I used to hang out there (volunteer) a couple of times a week after school until my dad came to pick me up on the way home. I loved those older folks and the love they shared.
I was glad that our kids got to visit the old timers on Friday. They LOVED the seeing the kids. Their faces just lit up like Christmas trees. AND our boy. Our boy loved running around and waving to everyone. And. I. Mean. EVERYONE.
He brightened their day and they brightened ours.
A win - win if you ask me!
