I can't seem to get my laundry done at all this week. I thank God for a patient husband. I make a new plan everyday to finish all the laundry but there is always something in the washer or the dryer. Its giving me a complex. I don't know what my problem is but I just can't seem to get on top of it. Ick.
Jack learned how to punch. Not swat, but PUNCH. Luckily he isn't connecting with anything yet, but his doing these Rocky Balboa type fake out punches. I don't have the faintest idea where he got that from. I have decided its going to be a must to put this kid in some sort of martial arts class and channel this bravado he has been born with.
Adam is in love with his shoes. Really. I ordered him two new pair of Rockports and every single day he thanks me for buying him the best shoes ever. WOW. And I thought the way to my mans heart was through his stomach.
I want to read. I have been itching to read a book lately and I think I am going to stop the ferris wheel of life and get off this weekend. Doesn't just checking out with a good book sound fabulous to you?
My dream to read a book this weekend is a pipe dream. Case in point. Sydney and I are going to LA to see Mary Poppins this weekend. It was one of her big Christmas presents this holiday. A girls day out, just the two of us. I am excited to spend time with just her. More to come about that soon.
Did you know that Sydney is growing and growing? So much so, that she is growing out of her dresser. Her clothes all can't fit in her drawers anymore. So I was on the hunt for a used dresser for her. And I found it. On craigslist. For $35.00 bucks! WHAT A STEAL!! Its a long 6 drawer black (not my favorite color, but oh well) dresser (wood not lacquer) with a mirror. So I got it and this new dresser promptly lead to a new full size bed (thanks for helping with that mom!) and bedding ensemble. So, out with Sydney's loft bunk bed and onto a tween room redo. I am glad that we are able to pass along the bunk to my nieces. Its in great condition but I just don't want to save it for my daredevil son. More pics to come.
Adam was on jury duty. But he didn't get chosen for a case. I was bummed. I think he would make a fabulous anything, including juror. Maybe next time.
I am drowning in paperwork. I was sustained this week at Church as the new Fellowship Elder. Basically an activity chair for the church. I have an AWESOME committee to work with, but the beginning of the year is filled with paperwork. I am getting a handle on it, but its making for some late nights at first, since it is impossible to work with Jack during the day. But I am grateful, humble and happy. I think its going to be a great year.
So there it is... the tidbits from our life right now. Sydney's back at school so things are going to start taking a more predictable form. Here's to a great start to 2010.

One of my fondest childhood memories is when my mom took me to see Annie in LA. I can still picture the theater in my head. I'm sure you and Sydney will have a great time. I hope your new fellowship position goes well.
