Did you know that Sydney is growing like a weed?
About two weeks ago I happened to glance at her sleeping in bed and Adam and I noticed she was looking pretty cramped in her bunk bed. Then the next day as I tried to put clothes was in her Kmart dresser, I was getting frustrated that I couldn't' fit them in the drawers anymore. Seems as though our girl was outgrowing her furniture. Time for a room redo.
It really was time. Her dresser was from when she was born and on its last legs. Wobbly and rickety we bolted it do the wall for safety. And the bunks we purchased when she was just about 3 and really held up well. So well in fact that we are passing them down to my brothers little girls. Its perfect because they share a room.
I first found the dresser on Craiglist for 35 bucks. What a steal. Then we found the bed and frame on overstock.com for under $150. My mom helped with mattress and box spring and the bedding was a bed in a bag from JC Penney. A January white sale price of $59.99 for everything, including window treatments. My mom came over and did the wall of photos. (THANK YOU!) Most we had, some she purchased. And the chandelier decal finishes out the wall.

Isn't it too cute? Out with the little girl in with the tween. Good thing is I think this will last through high school. The bed is sturdy and the dresser is roomy. Perfect!
So of course, we needed to make over Jack's room too. I had found all Jacks "Disney Car's" items on clearance at Big Lots when he was around 8 months old. So I had just been holding them for the right time. Isn't' it awesome?
We have a toddler blue race car bed I got on Craigslist for $40 bucks a year ago in the attic. Talk about a steal then too! Those beds run $200 new! I think that when we finally use that bed the room will really pop! But I want to keep Jack in his crib a while longer. (Well, I lot longer to be honest!) He also has race car checkered flags and other goodies to round out his room later. He seems to really like his new table Grandpa and Nana got him for Christmas. A perfect fit!
Adam was just really excited we don't have to hang anymore curtains for a few years!
He's such a good sport! So what do you think?
