Our family just returned from our second mini vacation this summer. We headed down to LA for the 4th of July weekend for some fun and sun and good times with old friends. Our first stop on Thursday was the American Girl Doll Store in Beverly Hills. Sydney was so excited to go to this store she asked every few minutes how much longer we had until we got there. And let me tell you it did not disappoint! From the valet parking with red carpet and crystal chandeliers, to the elaborate 2 story bright pink store, Sydney was in 10 year old heaven. Just take a look...
Outside before we headed in! Notice Sydney choose to wear pink in honor of the occasion!
She brought Julie with her. Sydney was sooo excited!
Upstairs we found the area dedicated to the "Julie" doll. It was awesome. Brady Bunch music was playing and there was all sorts of groovy 70's things to look at.
Sydney admiring all the different Julie outfits.
Jack was having a grand time picking his nose!
Our next stop was at the photo studio where Sydney and Julie had their picture taken. They put Sydney on the cover of a magazine. How neat is that?
Total keepsake. We are going to purchase a frame for it this week.
Sydney made an appointment at the doll salon. Julie got a complete cleaning (good thing too, she was kinda dirty from Syd's attempt at doll makeup and nail polish) and Julie even got a brand new hairstyle and earrings.
It was a wonderful day in the American Girl Doll store. Sydney had a great time, Julie came home with new outfits and accessories and Jack had a super time playing on the computer that they had in the store. I, on the other hand, got trapped in the elevator for 4 minutes, but otherwise had a great time. (Yes....FOUR minutes! Doesn't' sound like a lot until you are stuck in an elevator that won't open its doors and you are seriously ringing the bell over and over and nothing is happening. It feels like forever. You soon notice how hot it is in a elevator that isn't working and how small they are. Thank goodness it was only 4 minutes! UGH! And thank goodness the kids were safe with Adam in the store. That would have ruined the day, let me tell you!)
Julies new look!
Our happy darling girl! Happy Birthday Sydney! I am so glad you had a great time!
