Halloween? Check!

So most everyone knows I am a planner. I like to get things thought thru and buttoned up well ahead of time. Some folks find it stifling and stressful to think ahead, but I love it. It makes me feel relieved and in control when I have things kinda mapped out in my head.
I mean take my calling at church, Fellowship Elder. I already know exactly what we are doing for the Christmas Dinner. I have the decorations for the tree in my garage, and the menu and recipes in my binder. Its done and that makes me feel great. Or take the kids birthday's. I already know what we are doing next year and I am feeling inspired as I ponder it while I blow dry my hair. Yup, I am a planner. For sure.

So tonight you can imagine my excitement and relief when I found Jack's perfect Halloween Costume!

It is just too A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E. Oh man, I was so happy when I went to the Old Navy Website and saw that they finally posted the Halloween Costumes for this year. YAHOO! I am so happy!
You see, last year I got Sydney's costume for this year (On clearance, I might add! Like for $9.95, no joke) and she loves it! So, I felt pretty on top of it when I booked the Disney trip for this Halloween (remember our free tickets? That's when we are going...more on that later) and found out we are attending a Halloween Costume Party for the kids. But not having Jack's costume was bugging me.

You see, its stinkin cold here in Santa Maria at night, so I definitely needed a costume that was warm and cozy for Jack. He was a Monkey his first Halloween and it was perfect. He was Pirate last Halloween and it was perfect because it was warm felt and just so snugly. But if he got hot, he could take off his coat and cool down. And it didn't wrinkle. But see, Santa Maria can be warm during the day in October (many a time I have been sweating buckets at Avila Barn as we pick our pumpkins) so I needed a costume that could be cool too. Well, there is not a costume that meets both criteria, so last year Jack just had two costumes (thanks to my mom). He was the pirate at night, but superman at the day parties he attended. Perfect last year. But what to do this year?

So, its here I have to tell you about a costume swap we did at my Mom's Club a year ago. I swapped Sydney's old Indian Costume and scored a Woody from Toy Story costume size 2t. Way too big for Jack last year, but perfect for this year. Its so cute. Woody yellow shirt and boot shoe covers. And cow vest. Adorable. But not warm. NOT warm at all. So I knew we could use it for the day parties but not at night. And with going to the Disney Trick or Treat party, wouldn't there be like 10,000 Woody toddlers roaming around that night? Just what I need to get my boy mixed up with other kids. Ick.

So, this is turning out to be a very long post, but I am just so stinkin' excited and there is no one up to talk too! Ha! So, blogger, you are just going to have to share my joy!

So tonight I remembered that Old Navy might have their Halloween Costumes up on their website and decided to take a peek online. And that's where I found this!!!

Isn't it just the cutest thing ever?
I wanted Jack to be a Hamburger last year but I could only find the costume from Pottery Barn kids and they wanted like $79.99 and that is just crazy. Who would pay that? But Old Navy always has costumes for about $20.00. Cheap. So, isn't that hamburger just too cute? Won't Jack be adorable? Its super warm and original. Its soft and cozy. No itchy parts. And its wrinkly free. It doesn't have a million parts, or a hat to bug him, or cape to trip over, or a sword to wack people with. Its just Jack, cozy and comfy and warm in this Santa Maria chill and fog. And there will be a gazillion Buzz Lightyears and Mickey Mouses but hopefully there won't be a ton of Hamburgers at Disneyland.

So what do you think? I know I am crazy. But I am stoked.
That's right, check it off my list baby,
Halloween is wrapped up!
