Anyhow, going to the picnic once again brought out the fact that I don't like feeling on the spot and meeting all sort of new people at once. I tend to feel insecure. I know, a complete oxy moron because as Fellowship Elder, I have to host and entertain hundreds of folks at a time. Or as a musician Adam and I are called to sing in front of entire groups we don't know. But truth be told I am rather insecure (isn't everyone!) and unless I am doing 'something' I feel out of place making small talk.
Anyhow, after convincing myself I could get out of the car and go smooze with Adam and his co-workers, we really did have a great time. The company put on a great event, including pony rides, bounce house AND bounce obstacle course, face painting, caricatures, Tri Tip lunch and hot wheel racing. AND a watermelon eating contest. It was a great afternoon.
Sydney decided to do the Watermelon eating contest. It was a hoot to watch. I was able to sneak in and snap so pics.

Martin's daughter, Elishka won 2nd place. Here is the picture I took after the contest ended. I love that Sydney has a mouth full of watermelon! Funny. Next year we will take the advice of Martin, and just smoosh our face in the melon and push it down, no need to really eat it all! Good to knowThe other exciting part of the day was
Jack's First Pony Ride EVER!
In the past our boy has cried and screamed when we put him on the horses. But this year he was all excited and eager to ride. Adam, like me, was prepared to put him on the pony and immediately take him off when he started his hysterics, but this time he was all smiles!
YAHOO! or rather YEEHAW!
He had so much fun! Adam and I really had a fun time watching the kids ride.
