Halloween night turned out to be a little zany and a lot of fun. Doing Halloween right in the eyes of a 10 1/2 year old and a 2 1/2 year old is tricky. I don't think we are going to be able to combine these together for much longer. It was obvious this Halloween that the kids have different speeds and finding stuff to do that works for both of them is truly tricky.
We started the evening at a church fall Festival, but quickly realized that games were for little kids and the place wasn't too organized. Sydney was rolling her eyes all over the place so we snuck out of there and headed over to Pacific Christian Center. The Fall Festival was way more structured and Sydney was intrigued by all the games. For a while that is. Until she wasn't. I don't blame her. I remember being 10. Once you shot the basketball, popped the balloon with the dart and ate your cotton candy, you're kinda ready to roll. Jack on the other hand was having a groovy time in the preschool section with Adam, playing with bubble and bouncing in the bounce house. He even got to hang out with his buddy Shane from Church. It was awesome, but Sydney was dying so pretty soon we were on our way home for trick or treating.
So, it turns out trick or treating with her parents is still ok for Sydney this year, but I think next year we will invite some friends over for a group thing. She had fun, but I could tell she would have much rather been with a group of buddies. But, I must say, it really made my night when she said that Trick or Treating ROCKS! Phew, I thought so, but I am so glad she agreed!
P.s. Jack loved everything about trick or treating. He was adorable, and EVERYONE loved his costume. What a doll he is!
