Target Snob

Ok I admit it...I am a Target snob. There I said it. It feels good to get it out in the open.
Going to Target makes me happy. And its not spending money and buying things. Its just a nice clean store. There is something about Target that is neat and orderly. Its streamlined. Its bright. White and Red...I feel invigorated when I go in there, almost energized, I think it must be the colors.

I know the layout of Target and man does it work for my family. I usually shop for household items. Do you know where they are at Target? BOOYAH! Right in the front of the store when I walk in. Cereal for Adam? (and let me tell you, I buy a ton of it) BAM!
THE VERY FIRST AISLE! Soda, Juice, cottage cheese, Ziplocks? Right there in the front. Health and beauty are also close by, a convenient stroll to my right. And you know what else Target does that I love? They keep their products right on the shelf. In neat little rows. NOT still in the boxes or on pallets in the middle of the aisle.
The floor is shiny at Target, the people friendly, the customers waving hello and smiling.Yeah, Target is my store.
You may be asking yourself why I am wasting my time expressing my love affair with my store. Well let me tell you why.
Tonight I went there.
You know the place.
That sticky, crampy, dirty place.
"One of the circles of Hell" as my friend calls it.
Yup.
I went to Walmart.

So, I know I shouldn't talk crap about Walmart. After all they are "All-American" right? My Target store is some European store. I know, I know. I have heard it all before.

I know I should love it for the low prices and great selection, heck, even an Aunt of mine works there. But I can't seem to get my mind and heart around such an icky store. It drives me CRAZY!It's dirty and crowded and unorganized. Its loud. Half the signs are in Spanish. Helllloooo is this not America? (Hey, before you frown at me, remember I am the Mexican here! ) There's people everywhere, the kind of people who take up the whole aisle with their 15 kids and big ol' shopping carts and won't move even when you say excuse me nicely and smile bigly.
There is trash on the shelves, there's always pallets in the aisles and the parking lot can make my eyes go crossed. ACK!

I know the employees try very hard, but seriously, there is only so much they can do.
So anyhow...the reason for all my grumpiness is that we landed there this evening. All of us. It was night time and it still was nutso. Why do people put themselves in that kind of shopping choas? Not even the prices will bring me back. I will happily pay 15 cents more and keep my sanity.

No offense Aunt Dee Dee, I love you with all my heart, but I would rather, as Adam just said, "swim in the river with 15 Alligators" than go to Walmart again anytime soon.
But hey...there was one member of our household that had a blast at Walmart. Our dear Sydney. It's her kind of place. Kids running amock. People everywhere. Toys laying in the aisles. She had a blast. My Sydney, always finding a silver lining in any situation!
