So, I woke up this morning and my back was screaming at me! Seriously. I couldn't even roll over with out squishing my face all up and letting out a yelp. Crazy huh? Adam was a doll and got me vitamin C (his favorite, read the early blogs for a post about that....) and some Tylenol. Thank goodness he did because I wasn't moving without it! When Adam asked if he should stay home from work to care for me, I hollered out YES! I was being truthful too, but we both knew he couldn't. Darn huh? A handsome bearded man, home all day with me, rubbing my aching back would have been divine!
Ok well, back to reality. After about another 20 minutes of lying there I realized I was a crossroads. I wanted to stay in bed and nurse my back. I was thinking about how nice it would have been to have the kids snuggle with me in their jammies and watch Sesame Street and eat waffles and go nowhere. But then I remembered I had promised Sydney we would go to the 'Garden Tour' with my moms club. UGH. She would be completely disappointed if we didn't go. She was looking forward to planting her own plant. UGH again.
So in a moment of bravery I decided to get up and suck it up and get going.
Bad Choice.
I shoulda stayed in bed.
You see Jack did not sleep last night (big surprise) and he woke up so grumpy and ticked off that I made him wear his "crabby shirt". I am not kidding. He was one feisty little kid. During his bath, his breakfast, his buckling in the car. Ugh! I should have given up and gone back in the house. But no, we went.
And see, it did not change when we arrived at the tour.
This was pretty much his face the whole time.
My girlfriends were giving me the sympathy smile. The smile that says,
"Oh I've been there and I AM SO GLAD my kid is not doing that right now!"
Jack didn't want to held, but if you put him down he folded himself into a taco and rolled on the dirt ground. Lovely.
Gotta love 1 year olds!
Then Sydney spotted a bee. OH NO, NOT A BEE! Yup, a bee and it all went down hill from there. My daughter, God bless her, walked around the entire time scanning the area for bees. Listening intently for buzzing, pointing out the little suckers everywhere we went.
"Mom, do you see that, its a bee!"
"Mom, do you hear that, its bee buzzing"
No Sydney, I can't hear anything over your brothers screaming and wailing!
Too much!
Here is a picture of Sydney on the tour. Look at the expression on her face. That's the bee look.

Hope your back is feeling better. Brave of you to brave the day.
I love the taco tantrum description. Reminds me of that line in the Knuffle Bunny book where Trixie goes "boneless" during her fit.
