This weekend at OPC is our annual Mission Market. This is when our Fellowship Hall hosts display tables from many different missions from around the world. I love the Christmas Mission Market and all that it has to offer. Our family usually purchases an alternative gift for our family to give someone for the holidays each year. An alternative gift is one that helps people who are truly in need, and when we purchase it on behalf of our family, not only do our loved ones get blessed but another family does too. In the past, we have purchased chickens and rice for hungry people in China and helped fund the installation of well for clean water in Kenya. This year Sydney and I decided to create a table for our Mission Market. Sydney and I chose to help raise money for the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) This great organization provides milk and biscuits for 25,000 preschoolers in the Gaza. 90 % of the population of the area are on food aid. Because of this many of the young children do not eat nutritious meals throughout the day and are suffering from anemia, Vitamin A deficiency and malnourishment.
For only $14 dollars you can feed a hungry child fortified milk and wafer biscuits for a WHOLE MONTH.
Sydney and I are excited to be part of the Mission Market. It is this Saturday from 10-2. That means I have 3 1/2 days to finish the table display and ornaments I need to make this table a success. Keep the Mission Market in prayer. I will post some pictures soon!
