Welcome Butter and Finger...ummm I mean Tootsie and Roll

So did you know we have a revolving door at the Krebs Family when it comes to pets? I am speaking the truth you know. How many pets have I written about who have kicked the bucket since this blog started? Well, add Little Red to the list. Our sweet little beta fish was found a-floating a couple of days ago. Poor little thing.
So, while I was running errands yesterday I came across these African Dwarf Frogs at one of our favorite little shops, Anything Educational. These little critters are so cool. They live in this little cube and have their own special eco-system going on. The special gravel acts a a natural biological filter converting excess food and waste to soluble nutrients that are then used by the plant. The plant in turn acts as a natural aerator providing essential oxygen for the frogs. And the gravel also removes ammonia so that the water does not become dirty or toxic!
What does that mean?
It means you only have to change the water twice a year! NO JOKE!
And we only feed them 4 pellets every 3 days
AND the best part
They are guaranteed for five years!
Yahoo!
A pet that will live! Score! Sydney first named these little guys Mickey and Minnie but then decided today they should be named Butter and Finger after her new favorite candy bar.
So welcome Butter Finger, we are glad you are here!
***Update: Sydney renamed these guys Tootsie and Roll. Let's see if it sticks!
