Well, she did it! She turned 9! How exciting!
Yesterday was a huge day around our home with Sydney so thrilled for her birthday! Syd and I started the morning decorating her cake and taking a ton of birthday phone calls that really made her smile. These pics are of Sydney frosting her homemade cake and getting it ready to be 'dazzled' up by her friends when they arrived later in the evening. Her cake was a bed, with Twinkies representing the 'girls tucked into the bed' and marshmallows representing the girls 'pillows'. The bed skirt was made by a fruit roll up and Sydney had a great time rolling out the fondant icing and cutting out hearts to decorate her blanket. You can see in the last picture how it looked right before the girls arrived...
After our morning baking, our family headed out to a birthday lunch at IN and OUT and then Sydney requested going to the Discovery Museum again for some family fun. Since Adam didn't get to see the entire place last week, he and Jack had a grand ol' time exploring all there was to see.
My cuties on a saddle
Jack really loved this tractor

Jack loved the Vet office and kissed and hugged all the stuffed animals. Sydney had fun serving us in the diner...

After the museum we picked up Sadie and her friend Sarah to spend the night at our house. We were so excited they could come share in the fun!
Then it was back home to greet Sydney's guests. The girls got started right away decorating a 'Nilla Wafer for Sydney's cake. They had fun making the cookie look just like them.

After eating dinner and playing out side we sang the Birthday Song to Sydney and opened presents! She rec'd some very neat presents! The big one was the Wii~ that gift really blew her away!
Here she rec'd a homemade wallet with money, a Wii game and PJ's...
More Wii games and gift cards and lots of art supplies...
Sydney loved the necklaces from Aunt Liz and her pool from Nana and Grandpa just made her jump for joy!
After presents the girls ran off with Sadie and Sarah to do a neighborhood scavenger hunt. Whew! That was great because we had the pleasure of having my Aunt Linda and her friend Maggie join us from LA and I was excited to use that quiet time to visit with them! We even had Adam's cousin Liz join us for the party with her dog Newt and of course, Nana and Grandpa were here to celebrate too!
The rest of the evening was filled with a flip flop craft, some pretzel dipping and of course the obligatory Disney Channel 'tween' movie! Finally around midnight the girls drifted off to sleep!
